TELEPORT

An essential and interesting skill in ActiveWorlds is making teleports. A teleport will move the person once he or she touches it. The destination is up to you. Now let's make one!

Any object can be a teleport object. I am going to make a teleport out of a car.

First of all, I am going to find my destination. I want it to take me to my house so I go over to the exact spot where I want to be transported.

Notice above where I can find out an estimate of my position. It says 10S 13E. I am going to remember this location and go back to my car.

I am going to right-click on the car object and open up the Object Properties. This is where I am going to create the teleport.

In the Actions field, I am going to enter bump teleport 10S 13E

BUMP means trigger the action when touched. TELEPORT means move to ____. 10S 13E then is the coordinates to move to.

After I touch the car, I move here, close to where I wanted to.

Note: the 10S 13E is merely an approximation of where my actual position was. It was probably more like 10.23S 12.97E. This usually probably wouldn't make a difference but if it does, use your estimation skills and predict you actual position. In the bump teleport action, you can enter decimals as coordinates.
