Communicating with your Bot
| Now we have made logged in and understand what our interface looks like, let's make our bot do things. | ||||||||||||||
| Addressing Your Bot | ||||||||||||||
|
The first you must do is address your bot so it knows you are talking to it. You can do this in the CTCUni browser chat screen by typing in your bot's name. See to the right. Notice how I wrote "Johnbot" and the computer immediately responds. Now you can issue commands, some of which are highlighted in a chart below. Remember that you only have to address your bot once. You do not have to continually address it to issue commands unless you or the bot exits the world. Note: there are two other ways to issue commands. You can also whisper to it in the CTCUni browser. This has the advantage of not having to address the bot and also not having other people hear your conversations. Also, you can also address the bot in the Xelagot program by using the Command input field (see Interface if you have problems).

| Commanding Your Bot | ||||||||||||||
Here are some common commands to give to your bot. This is a quick
introduction to the movements of the bot. To find more (as you should), go
to
http://www.imatowns.com/xelagot/xlghlpidx.html and go to the title that
says "Xelagot Verbal Commands"

| * A tricky one to handle is the Obey command. This one is where you allow a second boss to control your bot. Before you can do that, you have to uncheck "Block 2nd Ownership." This is very easy and is illustrated in the picture below. Simply go to FILE, then OWNERSHIP BLOCK, then click RELEASE & UNBLOCK. |
